Caustic soda also known as sodium hydroxide, is a corrosive, colourless alkali which is an essential ingredient in many industries for Ph adjustment, neutralization and cleaning.

In addition to its industrial use, Sodium Hydroxide is naturally involved in some biochemical processes, though in very small amounts.

It plays a critical role in neutralising acids and in saponification, which is essential for soap production.
