Diboron Trioxide (B2O3), in amorphous  crystalline structure.  It is a colourless, odorless, hard solid, usually produced by the dehydration of boric acid.

Glass – Agent to lower the fusing point and to increase the thermal expansion coefficient.  It improves scratch and acid resistance, enhances its colour and gloss properties.

Ceramics – Used to produce ceramic enamel glazes, regulate the coefficient of thermal expansion between the glaze and item to be glazed.  Ensure the index of refraction of the glaze is high, increase scratch resistance of the glaze.  Increase resistance against water an chemicals.

Boron Chemicals – Used in the production of inorganic compounds such as boron hydrides, boron nitrides.  Used as a catalyst in production of organic boron compounds such as boric acid esters.

Metallurgy – Used as a flux as it is a good solvent for metal oxides.
