De-Ionised Water IBC

Deionised water, is water which has had (most of) the ions removed, it is not the same as distilled water.

Ions are atoms or molecules which have either more electrons than protons.

While the deionisation process produces high purity water by removing mineral ions,

it will not significantly remove any uncharged organic molecules.

In a lab it can be used when the purity of water needs to be known and for sterilization of equipment.

Industrial processes include chemical processing, pharmaceuticals, power, micro-electronics and petrochemicals.

Regular tap water is unsuitable for many cooling applications due to the minerals that contribute to the electrical conductivity of water,

De-ionised water has a far lower level of conductivity and does not result in unwanted scale build up.

It can also be used in boiler feed, extinguishing fires, aquariums and automotives.
