Sodium hexametaphosphate has a flaky structure composed of transparent particles that are easily soluble in water.
It is hygroscopic and odorless, it is used as a softening agent against corrosion or scaling prevention in chemical water treatment.
Applications:
Production of detergents and cleaning compositions, as a liquefying agent in ceramic industry,
additional softening of boiler water, softener for scouring and dyeing operations in textile industry,
dispersment for pigments in paint and coatings sector,
fire-proof and bonding agent in the manufacture of magnesium and magnetite materials,
sequestering agent in photographic developing products, leather tanning in fur and textile industry.
